Joy Hopwood was a former Play School presenter on A.B.C. Television. She was a contributing writer for Growing Up Asian in Australia published by Black Inc Books (Melbourne), Chinese Australian Women’s Stories and Reflecting on Life (Pearson Education).

In 2010-11 she performed at Belvoir St Theatre (Company B’s) sold out show, “Stories East and West.”

In 2013 she produced the successful theatre show, “The Wong Side of Life,” and founded The Joy House Film Festival.

The Wong Side of Life‘s “Don’t be a Loser” music video and Kindness is for free (anti-racism and anti-bullying) initiative was launched in 2014 into schools across Australia. The Wong Side of Life’s video link for schools is below.

In 2016 she worked on Yellow TV (Foxtel) produced by Maria Tran and wrote her first feature screenplay, based on her successful short film The Colour of Change which was selected in major film festivals in U.S, Asia and Australia.
